After teaching and learning about grammar and student engagement, I created a resource with games and sorts to teach nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs. Use this resource with first, second and third graders.
The winter themed words add some grammar fun during the cold months.
The digital edition has 15 engaging games to teach nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs.
How I use this resource
1. I introduce each part of speech individually with a book- I use Brian Cleary’s set of books. These charming books provide examples with rhyming text and colorful illustrations
2. After I teach nouns and verbs I use the cards and sorts to help students distinguish the difference.
3. Then I teach adjectives and adverbs and how they relate to the nouns and verbs.
4. I incorporate the games and activities to practice identifying these parts of speech.
5. These activities are great for independent practice, review and literacy centers.
