Eyeball fun with Halloween blends and digraphs
Grab some plastic eyeballs from the dollar store and write blends and digraphs on them. Put them in a container (maybe even a plastic pumpkin) and have students pull one out at a time and read them. Also, students can practice spelling them out loud. Partners could even practice spelling, reading and using the words in sentences.
Blend and Digraph Eyeball FREEBIE
If you don’t have plastic eyeballs you can still engage your students with these FREE blend and digraph eyeball cards. Your students can play a game of memory and then practice writing. Just print the free task cards and go!

Engaging your students with eyeball cards will help you assess how well they can apply writing skills independently. You can use the cards for independent practice, in your October writing center and even for a whole class game of scoot.
Blend and Digraph Scoot
